Leadership Changes at Ivanhoe for 2018-19
Dear Parents and Carers,
The governing board at Ivanhoe are relentlessly ambitious for the continued success of our school and our students. We regularly review our work and look to build on our successes and ensure that Ivanhoe College is well placed for future developments.
For a number of years Ivanhoe College has built strong links with Ashby School and Ibstock College with a view that these schools, together with primary schools in the area, form a strong local partnership and plan to work ever closer together in future.
Through this partnership, the Ivanhoe governing board have approved a plan to appoint our Principal, Anne-Marie Blewitt to act as Executive Head for both Ivanhoe College and Ibstock College for 2018-19. This interim position has arisen due to the promotion of the Principal of Ibstock Community College to a school in Nottingham, and at a time ofchange for the schools in this area. This role, over-seeing both schools, will ensure a consistent and strategic approach to further developments that the governing boards at the local schools are exploring.
Mrs Blewitt will be working to review the leadership roles at Ivanhoe for next academic year and will keep parents, students
and staff informed of new appointments and changes to some leadership roles.
The governors would like parents to feel reassured that due to the strong leadership structures in place in both schools we are very confident that the executive headship role planned for 2018-19 will not only lead to stronger outcomes for all students, but also strong educational systems in the Ashby and Ibstock area.
Graham McKay - Chair of Governors
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am pleased to have been asked to take on this leadership role at such a time of change in our local schools. I will work hard to ensure the best outcomes for all students, at both schools, and I am confident that with a strong leadership team and governing board in place at both schools that this will be achievable .
With my step up to Executive Headteacher, this will give rise to interim promotional opportunity for a member of our current leadership team; to cover as Head of School when I’m off site. As soon as decisions have been made about this role staff, parents and students will be informed.
If you have any questions about the changes I would ask that you wait until these further announcements have been made.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Anne-Marie Blewitt - Principal
