“We arrived in Masella early Sunday morning after a full day of travel, we were all a little tired, but the excitement soon set in when we realised we had arrived to over one meter of fresh snow. Not only did we have an abundance of snow - the sun was shining too, skiing conditions do not get better than this.
The first morning was met with a few nerves. For many of the students this was their first time skiing, however they put on their brave boots and off they went. Within minutes they were skiing, well on one ski! By the end of the week due to their perseverance these beginners had now become skiers! Gone were the nervous smiles replaced with stories of how fast they had skied, how steep the run was, who had or hadn’t fallen over and new tricks they had learnt, they were carving up the mountain!
From day one our advanced skiers owned the mountain. The progressed quickly throughout the week, and were soon offering teachers tips.
Their daredevil nature saw them jumping in the ski park and taking on black runs without a care in the world.
Our week of sun, snow and skiing flew by and before we knew it we were waving goodbye to Masella, but we were leaving with memories that will last a life time. The bus journey home was a quiet one full of exhausted but exhilarated skiers. “
