What category of governor are you?
I am a Staff Governor
Do you have any specific roles on the Governing Body?

What committees are you a member of?
I am a member of the Curriculum and Learning Committee
Why did you apply to be a governor at Ivanhoe College?

Firstly, I was appointed subject leader of English in January this year and I am therefore interested and looking forward to the opportunity to learn about the school from a different angle and hopefully, especially as a core subject leader, provide input from a staff perspective moving forward.

Secondly, as a member of staff at Ivanhoe going into my 6th year here, I am hoping to gain new skills and knowledge through this post to further improve my leadership of my subject area and hopefully future positions in senior leadership.

What experiences have you had in your life that you bring to your work on the Governing Body?

Since graduating from University, I have always wanted to work in education and have worked my way up from an LSA, to a cover supervisor, to a class teacher and now subject leader. I therefore feel that I have a good understanding of what it is like to be a staff member in a variety of roles within a school and can hopefully bring this to my new role as a staff governor.
