The ACE partnership is a collaborative group of schools which span the KS3 and KS4 across NW Leicestershire. This partnership is primarily concerned with the development of curriculum and assessment and has involved all subject areas working closely together with ACE partnership schools to revise, improve and develop our subject content in line with GCSE and KS3 National curriculum requirements.

The ACE Curriculum and Assessment Project

The aims of the partnership are to work in collaboration to;

  • Produce and keep under review a common ACE core curriculum including concepts and knowledge, a related set of continual assessment statements and an end of year summa-tive assessment test.

All subjects have been working in collaboration since September 2014 to;

  • Revise our curriculum using the Pathway Model for every subject to be taught to Years 7, 8 and 9 from September 2015.
  • Share good practice on how the Pathway Model is built into schemes of work and, where appropriate, embedded across the curriculum.
  • Produce common end of year assessments in KS3 which follow the agreed ACE Pathway model towards GCSE content and assessment.  The flight path model will be in line with GCSE grades.
  • The curriculum and assessment design for KS3 is aimed to ensure that students are well prepared for GCSE studies starting in Year 10.
  • Subject group members should ensure that there is good communication of developments to all teachers and to their own line managers at individual school level.
