As you will have seen, age range change has now been confirmed for the Ashby area, meaning that Ivanhoe will begin accepting Year 10 students from September 2022.

At Ivanhoe, we are incredibly excited about this change and looking forwards to what the future holds.  You may not be aware that this change has been on the cards for some time, and as a school and a staff we have already begun to develop our curriculum to support your children through their full educational career.

Over the coming weeks, we hope to share with you our thoughts and plans about what the future holds for Ivanhoe, profile some key members of staff and departments and their experience with Key Stage 4, and introduce you to the preparations that we have been making.

This week we would like to get your opinions about what you’d like to see as we make these changes.  We’d appreciate any responses to support us as we create a school for your child’s future.  If your child is in Year 7 or  Year 8 you should receive a short survey about 11-16 choices and careers to help us shape our school structures as we move forward.

I’d like to leave you with this quote from a member of our staff which sums up how we are feeling about this news “I can’t wait to see students benefit from a continuous 11-16 school experience. It will have a positive effect on the aspirations of our students,”
