During the week of 11th to 15th of September Mr Bellmore & Mr Thornewill were speaking to houses about the importance of staying safe online.
Mr Bellmore set our house leaders a challenged, “Can you refill this tube of toothpaste?”

The answer they found was no you can’t and much like content on the internet, once it’s out there it can never be taken back.

The following week, in form time, all our students have worked together to create a set of rules and guidance for using Technology & Social Media outside of school, being sure to balance its use with all the other important things like spending time with family & friends. This is what our students came up with.

  • Don’t use our Mobile Devices (Phone/Tablet/Laptop) in bed, and stop using them an hour before bed.
  • Don’t charge our devices in our bedrooms.
  • Don’t check Social Media first thing in the morning.
  • No Technology at Meal Times, talk to the family!
  • Don’t post/send anything you wouldn’t want your family to see.
  • My Technology is not the first thing I use when I get home.
  • Plan with your parents when you can use the internet at home.
  • Teach my family how to use the internet, so they can understand what I am doing.
  • Talk to my parents if I want to set up a social media account.
  • Use technology in family areas such as the lounge/dining room/kitchen.
  • Always tell an adult if I see or hear something I don’t like.
  • Don’t look down at our phones when we are near a road.
  • Leave time for other things; Be Active. Be Positive. Be Present.
