Can you please help with our Lifeskills careers education?

We are hosting a careers event at Ivanhoe for year 9s within their Lifeskills lessons. To make it as relevant and interesting to them as we can we would like to invite adult representatives from a wide range of careers to come in and talk about their job to our students.

We would like students to find out: Why they wanted to enter that career, how they got into the job, what skills they needed to have and/or develop, what they do on a day-to-day basis, what’s good about the job what’s not so good, hours, pay, benefits etc.

Would you be able to help out or do you know anyone else who would? The sessions will involve speaking with small groups of around 20 students at a time.

The event will be running Tuesday 24th January 11-12.30 & Thursday 26th January 2-3.30pm, and ideally we would like guests to attend both sessions if possible. If you think you could help, please contact Lead Practitioner, Mrs Cresswell, at e.cresswell@ivanhoe.co.uk.

We would also appreciate it if any families could share this request with their employers. Many thanks in advance.
