On Thursday 1st December 5 students took part in the Rotary Young Chef of the Year, local heat. Two students made it through to the next round of the competition; Kamran Ewbank & Emma Crumley.  Their brief was to plan cook and serve a 2 course meal for 2 people for under £10.  Ivanhoe Food Technology teacher Mrs Robinson said, “Myself and the judges were impressed with the high level of skills and organisation shown during the evening.  They all worked independently and confidently.”

Emma cooked a Chicken Caesar and black forest gateau and Kamran did spiced chicken fillet, rice and salad with white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. They only had 1½ hours to prepare and cook it

The next round will take place in Leicester in January, where they will have to cook a 3 course meal in 2 hours.
