On Saturday 8th February, 3 Year 7 students, Harry Booton, Alfie Smith and Jenny Wilkinson, took part in the Rotary Youth Speaks competition semi finals. The event was held at Beauchamp college in Oadby and they were representing the Ashby Hastings Rotary club as well as the school. They had qualified for the semi finals back in November 2019.

Their topic was to discuss plastic pollution and although they were the team youngest taking part in the competition and although they did not qualify for the District final, they all performed brilliantly, receiving full marks for team work and smartness.

They are looking forward to taking part as a team again next year, using their experience and the feedback they received from the judges this year to help them progress even further.

Well done to all 3 and thank you for being such excellent ambassadors for Ivanhoe College.
