We politely remind parents and students that we do not allow SMART watches in school, with the exception of activity only trackers (such as fitbits which do not receive messages or notifications. )
Whilst we appreciate that technology advances are often embraced by young people there are a number of reasons why
we do not allow SMART watches on campus:
• They are tempting distractions to students during learning time and text messages and alerts can disrupt lessons.
• The ability on some smart watches to take photos in school could leave our vulnerable students at risk.
• They are expensive equipment and we do not want students to risk damaging or losing them at school.
Thank you for your support on this matter.
