We are so proud of our sporting achievements at Ivanhoe, not just the results of our fixtures, but the commitment and effort from our students and staff.

There are some impressive stats from this year:
There have been 55 fixtures dates this year, with 108 individual fixtures.
There have been 270 regular attenders at sports clubs this year, and over 400 students have attended at least one club meet this year.
Notable results
KS3 Boys Badminton – 2nd in League
Year 8 Boys Hockey – County Finalists – 2nd Place – Competition Sportsmanship Award Winners
Year 7 Girls Futsal – County Finalists
Year 7 Girls Sportshall Athletics – County Finalists – 2nd Place

20 Ivanhoe athletes qualified for the County Athletics competition this year. 16 made it through to the finals with results range from 1st to 9th place in County
The following students finished in the top 3 in the County:
Rosie Harris, Charli Samspon, Jolie Lynn & Florence Manser - Junior Girls 4x100m Relay – 1st Place
Hannah Knox – Junior Girls High Jump – 2nd Place
Jess Robertson-Dover – Junior Girls 1500m – 2nd Place
Jake Brown – U13 Boys Long Jump – 2nd Place
Ashton Adcock – U13 Girls Javelin – 2nd Place
Jolie Lynn – Junior Girls Long Jump – 3rd Place

Over 100 girls attended our ‘Girls Active’ group with 20 regular attenders to the taster sessions in sports ranging from bench ball to judo and kickboxing to Quidditch!

There have been 3 sports development days this year with trips to Leicester Tigers for Rugby, Loughborough Lightening Academy for Netball and Leicester Riders for Basketball.

There have also been a large number of students involved in Sports Leadership opportunities:
5 Silver Sports Ambassadors
26 Level 1 Sports Leaders
22 Miss Motivators
8 Girls Football Activators

So, the Sports Awards Evening was the perfect opportunity to celebrate such amazing achievements over the year, and with over 400 students and family members in attendance the atmosphere was fantastic. Each sports team captain gave a small speech about their achievements and experiences from the year, and it was wonderful to see not only their confidence in presenting to such a large group, but the sportsmanship was second to none.
