Being the parent of teenager is a tricky business and we aim to offer as much help as possible to both parents and students. On our website you will find a directory of trusted informative websites that can offer advice, information and support to young people and their families on a range of issues including physical and mental health, e safety, abuse and more. We introduce students to these websites in Life Skills lessons or through our Care and Guidance Team. I would like to start spotlighting a couple of these sites throughout the year.
Firstly is Kooth.com - Kooth is a free online service for children and young people. 1 in 5 children and young people suffer from mental health illness in any given year. Kooth.com is commissioned by the NHS, Local Authorities, charities and businesses to provide anonymous and personalised mental health support for Children and Young People. With over 4000 logins per day, they provide end to end support whatever the need.
Benefits of the site include:
An anonymous mental wellbeing community including supportive discussion boards and magazine articles.
Personal journal features which to make plans and track success, keep a record of how different activities affect their feeling and emotions.
An online chat function to message or live chat with the Kooth support staff. You can find further links on our website: https://www.ivanhoe.co.uk/advice-for-young-people-directory

This is considered an out of date browser. This website has been developed with modern browsers in mind to allow it to display at its best in a wide variety of viewing situations - including mobile viewing. But we haven't supported older browsers like IE8. Please upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer - or try Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Both are excellent browsers.
Thank you.
