Student Council News

On Wednesday 5th February the Student Council met for the second time this school year. Working in house groups, with a nominated secretary and speaker they started by doing a ‘GROW’ AND ‘GLOW’ of our current Interhouse arrangements. Students came up with ideas for new competitions as well as ideas to encourage participation from more
students. Following the feedback our House Leaders have already started work on a new competition which they will be organising and running.
After this, groups worked on task 2 which was to further consider our ‘Eco’ plans for the school. In particular they focussed on how
they could promote the reduction of single use plastics not only to the student body, but also staff and parents. They had some
interesting ideas including the use of video messages.

As the next step to continue with the ‘Eco’ plans students were asked to put themselves forward for a new subgroup of the
Student Council who will be working with 2 members of staff on some additional projects. We look forward to bringing you more news of this later in the year.

Finally the Student Council were asked to remind students and parents that we would no longer be selling bottles of water ins
school after the Easter holidays.
