Last Wednesday, we went to Leicester to experience three different cultures. It turned out to be not at all what we expected! We started in a Hindu Mandir. We were amazed at how luxurious, colourful and glamorous it was. They were so friendly and welcoming and were really informative about their faith.
Then we went to a mosque, which was really unique because it was in a modern community centre. Again we were made welcome with biscuits! They taught us a lot about their culture.
Finally, we went to a Sikh Gurdwara. We all learned how to tie our headscarves properly and met a Sikh from Canada. They taught us about the 5Ks and the Golden Temple. Overall, it was an eye-opening experience and we're glad we had the opportunity to go.
