Young Chess Champion

Year 8 student George Worrow-Goodin has been chosen as the Best Junior Team Player of the Year by the Leics & Rutland Chess Association (LRCA).
He has been a member of the Ashby Ivanhoe Chess Club for about 5 years and has shown remarkable progress to become good enough to play for the Club’s men’s 3rd Team and for the County Under 100s team, which won the National title earlier this year, with George as one of it’s best performers.

Congratulations George, keep up the good work.

The Ivanhoe College Chess club meets every Wednesday lunchtime, and usually someone from Ashby Ivanhoe Chess Club also attends to provide additional coaching for any of our students who would like it.
