Our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh participants all successfully completed the qualifying expedition in the Peak District this past weekend. The expedition began in Over Haddon on the outskirts of the Peak District and groups were set off walking for their first day. They had the opportunity to explore beautiful scenery and spend time in the great outdoors with stunning views. The groups navigated this successfully and all groups managed the walk despite some windy conditions at times. Once back to camp in Wardlow, all groups were busy setting up their tents, cooking and spending some quality time together.
Day two began bright and early ready for the second day of walking. All groups managed to complete the second day of walking in warmer conditions than on day one though they were cool, calm and collected and made it all the way to the finish at Baslow. All participants have now successfully completed the expedition section of the Duke of Edinburgh award!
As well as completing the walks and camping over, our students showed exemplary behaviour and the instructors from Premier Expeditions who accompanied the expedition gave really positive feedback about our young people at Ivanhoe School. They were really pleased to work with you and hope to work with you again.
Congratulations to all of our Bronze participants, we are so proud to have been with you on expedition. From start to finish, you all showed the Ivanhoe Way of being ambitious, determined, respectful and showing that we all care and we all matter.
We hope you enjoyed as much as we did and sign up for Silver.
