
Fibre February has continued this week with Year 7 students making fibre rich banana muffins using oats to provide fibre, texture and crunch. They have also used sultanas and blueberries to add further taste and to make these a healthier choice for breakfast or snack time after looking at the Eatwell Guide recommendations. Well done Year 7 and to Ellie who produced these great looking muffins!

The Lunar New year is this year celebrated between Tuesday 17th February and Tuesday 3rd March. In school we have developed our cultural awareness through the making of a traditional oriental dish, sweet and sour chicken which we served with rice. Year 9 also developed their presentation skills and practical abilities creating a dish that required more complex skills such as making a sauce, handling and cooking raw meat and cutting techniques when preparing a range of vegetables. A great array of dishes were created, some of which are pictured below:
