I SOLD MY £2 COIN FOR £134 AFTER FINDING IT IN MY CHANGE!

During the summer holidays, I noticed something unusual about a £2 coin I had received as change after buying an ice cream.

The inner part of the coin looked slightly off-centre, giving it an unusual appearance. As I’m interested in coin collecting, I am aware that some minting errors could make coins more valuable to collectors.

I did some research and found that similar errors had attracted interest from collectors. After checking the coin carefully with my grandad, who also collects and sells coins, I decided to put it up for auction on eBay, starting at £3.99.

I was surprised by the amount of interest the coin received, and it eventually sold for £134.

It was pretty surprising to think that a coin I had simply received as change could end up being worth so much more than its face value. The sale also gave me a good reason to keep checking my change for other unusual coins.

In the end, a quick trip to buy an ice cream turned into a £132 profit definitely not something I expected when I handed over my money that day.
