Last Tuesday, a group of Year 8 and 9 students were rewarded for their success at our annual STEAM Show with an exciting visit to the Big Bang Fair at the NEC. These students had previously received awards for their outstanding projects, and the trip served as both a celebration of their achievements and an opportunity to further inspire their interest in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.
The Big Bang Fair offered a vibrant and engaging environment, filled with interactive exhibits and innovative displays from a wide range of organisations. Students had the opportunity to explore potential career pathways, speak with professionals, and experience hands-on activities that brought STEAM subjects to life.
Our students made the most of every opportunity, demonstrating enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to try new experiences. One student shared, “I really enjoyed the 3D printing pens because we got to create a butterfly design with them,” while another said, “I was really excited and nervous to hold a real life snake!” These moments capture the excitement and variety of experiences available at the event.
