Student Council Launch

At Ivanhoe we have always been proud of our House Leader programme which has given student representatives from each House the opportunity to be involved in speaking on behalf of the student body. Students get the chance to be involved in a range of activities from organising social events such as school disco’s, planning fundraising activities and sitting on student interview panels when the school recruits new members of staff.

We wanted to take this one step further by launching a student council which includes a representative from every form in the school. We believe that the ‘Student Voice’ is important in shaping the strategic directions of the school and having a direct impact on school improvement. It is important for our students to feel that their opinions are valued and listened to. For the students elected it will be an excellent opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills.

The Student Council is being coordinated by Miss Howick and the students will be meeting every half term through out the year and we are expecting great things from them.
