Within the thematic contexts, students could use the specified vocabulary and grammar to listen to, read, speak and write about the following subjects:

The GCSE examinations are set out in two tiers: foundation and higher and these apply to four exams (each skill is 25% of the total grade).

Learning a language will help you build up transferable skills such as listening and communication skills, as well as promoting your understanding of different cultural values.
You will develop your knowledge of social, cultural and economic values of life work in France and Spain (or countries where these languages are spoken).
Language skills can lead directly into a career in translating, interpreting or teaching for instance, and are also in high demand in areas such as hospitality, tourism, journalism, law, diplomacy, publishing, charity work and business services.
