In Computing, students will develop the skills and knowledge needed for them to thrive and take on the challenges of living in an ever changing technological society, preparing them for roles in society that may not even exist today. Learning how to learn independently use Computing and inspiring them to consider the opportunities offered by modern technological development.
The Computing curriculum is forward thinking and designed to equip students with knowledge to become successful in their future, but also to inspire and develop the Computing & IT professionals of tomorrow. In each year group there are multiple projects that cover computational thinking skills and software such as e-Safety & Microsoft Office and Computing topics, such as sequencing and programming.

Our Year 9 curriculum is designed to allow students to explore this range of subjects before committing to choose them as an option subject in KS4. Student feedback has shown that this curriculum change has a positive impact on students confidence and happiness in their option choices.
In Computing, IT & Enterprise students will develop the skills and knowledge needed for them to thrive and take on the challenges of living in an ever-changing technological society, preparing them for roles in society that may not even exist today.
We deliver learning in three distinct subjects these are;
Computer Science – Here we learn how the computer works and covers topics such as binary numbers and programming.
Information Technology – Here we learn how to use the computer and covers topics such as creating documents using a computer and laws that relate to computer usage.
Enterprise & Marketing – Here we learn what an enterprise is and how they are successful.
Each component will have 2 units and students will get to experience both styles of assessment; Exams and NEAs (coursework)
